Levi's and Google smart jacket
Google and Levi’s developed the Project Jacquard smart denim jacket. The sleeve of the coat is enhanced with touch technology. It enables the wearer to operate his or her smartphone by simply touching and 'swiping' the sleeve.
The technology can be charged by USB and the coat is machine washable, like any other denim jacket.
With the matching app, the Levi's and Google smart jacket can connect with other services, like Spotify. The app is an open-source system. Developers are invited to increase and upgrade the possibilities of the smart jacket. In our trend theme 'Post Matter' from the forecast presentation 'All Systems Go!' we show more examples of wearable electronics and their connection with daily-life products. The Project Jacquard smart jacket by Levi's and Google will be available from Spring 2017.
